DNC not recognizing my raw files

I am trying to convert NEF files shot on my new Nikkon D610, so that I can use them in my Photoshop V13.0.  I downloaded the latest version of DNC V9.8.0.692.  I go to select the image to convert, go to the folder where the files are stored and it says "No items match your search".  I am not sure what to do next.  Any suggestions or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

If in photoshop cs6 you go to Help>About Plug-In and click on the words Camera Raw, what version does it say?

The newest camera raw version for photoshop cs6 is 9.1.1

If you have anything older, try this camera raw 9.1.1 installer

http://swupdl.adobe.com/updates/oobe/aam20/win/PhotoshopCameraRaw7-7.0/9.1.88/setup.zip

Then you should be able to open the D610 nefs directly into cs6 without using the dng converter.

What operating system are you using?

Do you have photoshop elements 13 or photoshop cs6?

Either way, since camera 8.3 is required for the nikon D 610, both should open those nefs without having to use the dng converter first.

Did you use Nikon Transfer to download the camera files?

When you use the dng converter you just want to select the folder that has the files, not open the folder.

What operating system are you using? Windows 10 Home

Do you have photoshop elements 13 or photoshop cs6? Photoshop CS6

Either way, since camera 8.3 is required for the nikon D 610, both should open those nefs without having to use the dng converter first.  When I attempt to "open with Photoshop" Photoshop launches then a window comes up and says "Photoshop cannot ope this file" Say to make sure I have the latest camera raw update, which I have check and Photoshop says I am updated

Did you use Nikon Transfer to download the camera files?  No, I simply used File Explorer and copied the files from the SD card to my hard drive

When you use the dng converter you just want to select the folder that has the files, not open the folder.  Yup, that was it.  By simply selecting the folder it worked.  Looks like Operator error. Thank you for your help!
