Question

Does a TWAIN32 plugin work in Photoshop CC?

I have Photoshop CS6 (32 bit) installed on my Windows 10 PC which allows me to use a TWAIN32 plugin to run my scanner software directly from within Photoshop using File>Import from the Menu bar. If I install the CC version of Photoshop and Lightroom, will I still be able to use the TWAIN32 plugin to access the professional interface of my scanner software?

TWAIN hasn't been supported for a long time. It won't work.

Use the standalone scanner software. That's all TWAIN ever did anyway; it just let you access the same scanner software from within Photoshop - and render Photoshop unusable while the scan was running.

I did this a lot, and got really fed up with staring at a green progress bar for five minutes. Much better to scan in the background and do something else in Photoshop in the meantime.
