Done button in camera raw

I clicked done instead of open in camera RAW and my image has been deleted and replaced in the folder with an XMP file. How can I get my RAW back?

And why can't I open this XMP in photoshop?

nevermind I found the actual photo file (I missed it sorry) and when I opened it, the accompanying XMP must also be used to retain the edits.
