Question

Downloaded tools

Hi,

Can someone tell me why I am getting 'assigned' tools please?  I have downloaded brushes and I can't use them as a blur tool or an eraser - when I click to change the tool type as soon as I click on it, it converts to a brush?

Thank you

When you say you got them from Adobe, do you mean the Adobe Add-Ons page?

Photoshop CC add-ons (plug-ins and extensions)

Most of those add-ons are created by 3rd parties; not Adobe.

You could try nuking your Preferences On Quit.  See screenshot.

    Restart Photoshop.

    Downloaded tools from where?

    Which version of Photoshop?

Are those tools compatible with your version?

Downloaded from Adobe. It’s so weird I‘ve never seen it before. Have the subscription service. It seems that all my brushes are assigned to particular tools and I can’t swap between them.

Reset your Brushes and/or all Tools.

    1. Pick any tool from the Toolbox
    2. Right-click (Mac: Control+click) the picture of the tool at the far left of the Options Bar to access the reset tool menu:
    3. Reset this tool or all tools to restore the tool defaults:
    4. Click OK.
