Retina is a kind of high quality screen in some Macs. Don’t expect old software to work on new hardware.

So you're expecting CS6 to work on the latest Mac system? I don't think anyone promised that.

HI ACP, A YEAR LATER my yosemite mac is busted and I did the terminal thing from sierra, thanks to Adobe for keeping our posts for eternity!

I am not finishied but it working like magic, I hope it'll work for mojava and all what comes after.

It's not pressing but what do you mean by retina support, have perpetual CS6 and the download was still there

THANKS!

Well, looks like Migration isn't perfect. Most Adobe products don't migrate. And notice Adobe don't claim they will either. I think Apple need more in the way of warnings.

You might find this information from Adobe helpful:

Re Retina display support in Photoshop CS6. Adobe released Photoshop update version 13.0.3 (for Mac perpetual customers) and version 13.1.1 (for Creative Cloud members, Mac and Windows). So, if you have PSCS6 – through either the perpetual (“box copy”) or Adobe Creative Cloud membership (“subscription”), and you run the updater, you will have Retina support.

And one more piece of unasked-for advice:

When one decides to stick with obsolete software one should make sure one is able to roll back any and all software and hardware updates in case they »break« the set-up.

It is VITAL not only to keep the download but also to keep it OFF your computer in a safe place, with your serial number. Happily Adobe still have the favour of keeping CS6 for download but it’s out of support now, don’t count on being able to do it again. This is true of ALL downloaded software. If you don’t keep what you download you might never be ae to get it again. An expensive mistake.

I kept on my other mac, I will always have it, as I have my serial numbers, so why FreeOffice (libreOffice), google earth, Skype - with contacts - arrived with migration - and not PS?

just a curiosity, it's not the first time I  buy a new mac

If you expect to use a piece of software past your current computer’s usage expectancy you should keep a back-up of the installer.
