I purchased Photoshop CS6 Extended several months ago when I owned a Windows computer. I recently bought my MAC which doesnt have a disc drive, how am I suppose to download Photoshop without the disc?

    Correct answer SG...

I own a copy of each program (on two separate disks) that was how they were purchased. I do have a legitimate serial number for the MAC version: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX with my name Courtney Hargrave and this email address attached to my ADOBE ID. I do have Wi-Fi, so all I would have to do is download the trial version of CS 6 Extended and enter the above serial number and it should work?

Message was edited by: SG... Never post your serial number here.

    Hi Courtney,

Downloading the trial version will allow you to license and activate on the new machine, even if your license is for the non-Extended SKU. You can find the downloads here:

    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/cs6-product-downloads.html

You could also try Remote Disc with your Mac and Win machines if they can share a network. More info here:

Go buy a cheap DVD drive. A good one is $40. Makes the installation much easier, especially if you are registered with Adobe. I have done it with LR 5 and LR 6 on multiple laptops and PC's, both Mac and not.

The question is for Photoshop CS6 Extended, not Photoshop Elements. They are two very different programs and Photoshop Elements has its' own forum.

Not sure if your question was answered yet or not, but if not:

Download the same Software and Version as the software you purchased (with the CD-ROM) from http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/photoshop-elements-10-11-downloads.html

After it has been downloaded, install the program and it'll eventually ask if you purchased or if you want to try the 30-day free trial.  After you click that you purchased the software, you can enter the serial number to continue the installation.

If you don't have a serial number, the software comes with a Serial Number Retrieval card that has a Redemption Code.  Enter the redemption code at www.adobe.com/go/getserial  .

    Hope that helped!

LindaC, let's start with the basics. Exactly which product are you trying to install? And did you redeem your redemption code yet?

I think that some terms might have been confused here.

When you say that your Mac doesn't have a "disc drive," are you referring to a DVD-capable multi-drive? If so, there are ways around that. If you DO mean that your Mac has no disc drive, then you cannot run Ps on it, as it is not a "portable application."

Is your CS 6 Extended on DVD's?

Is your CS 6 Extended for Windows?

Let us know a bit more, and someone will be able to direct you.

    Good luck,

I mean it doesn't have a DVD drive. I have my CS6 on a DVD for both MAC and Windows. However, I have no way to actually get them onto my computer. I have serial numbers for my program, which I will happily give you as well as any info that will help further this along.

You don't mean that literally, do you?  If you had the versions for both platforms on a single DVD, you would not have a legal copy of Photoshop.  That simple.

If you had a Windows version and then asked for a "cross-grade" to the Mac version, then you forfeited your right to use the Windows version at all.

If you have a legitimate, valid serial number for the Mac version of Photoshop, you can download and install the trial version on your computer (I'm assuming you do have a WiFi connection or access to one at a cafe or such), and then input your serial number to register and activate it.

    Please clarify all this.
