Dry Brush Filter not working on 300 dpi images

The dry brush filter will work ONLY on 72 dpi images. When I try to apply to 300 dpi images i see only a minor effect. I have tried adjusting the sliders but nothing seems to help. What am I missing here?

Are you viewing the image at 100% zoom ratio? (Ctrl Alt 0)

The DPI is not relevant — just the size in pixels.

If this is not the answer, then show us a screen shot of your entire workspace with the layers panel visible, and the relevant layer selected. Just paste to clipboard and paste here with Ctrl v.

Yes I am viewing the image at 100% zoom ratio.

This Top image is a screenshot of 72 dpi file. This is the effect as it SHOULD appear after dry brush filter is applied.

This bottom image is a screenshot of the 300 dpi file. I have applied the exact same settings in the dry brush filter, however the painterly effect as seen in the 72 dpi image does not render. Looks like this:

I do not see a difference when an Image Print resolution is set to 72DPI and I apply a dry brush filter

to when I set the same image to print at 300doi resolution and I apply a dry brush filter the only difference I see is the size the prints will be the 72DPI print is more then 4 time the size of the 300dpi print. You image are very different in size at 100% zoom one of your image fills a center portion of your display where your other image does not fit on your display. One of your images has a lot more detail then other has. An Image Print resolution is the pixel size the image will be printed with the Pixels you have for the image will be printed with pixels that side 1/72"x1/72" and 1/300"x1/300" you small image may print the same size as your larger image because you are printing it using large 1/72"x1/72" pixels where you are printing your large image with small 1/300"x1/300" pixels
