Dust and Scratches Function Keeps Crashing My Photoshop

I'm using a macbook pro with a processor of 2.6 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i7 and with graphics AMD Radeon Pro 5300M 4 GB. I've always have this issue but it used to be from time to time and it'll be fine when i relaunch but recently almost every image i've used the dust and scratches function it had been crashing my photoshop and my progress keeps getting lost. I've tried the "turn off/on graphic processor" step and it still doesnt work. Please help!

Everything is updated?  That could be an issue.  Check to see if your computer has any updates needed.

I suggest you free up more hard disk space to at least to 100GB and reset your Photoshop preferences.
