After editing a photo how can I save it to an external devise.

Hi

Is the external device connected to the PC, if so go to File > SaveAs and select the format you want to save it as, then just select the external device to save it in

But of course then you have no backup. So I would save to your internal disk(s) and then drag a copy of the file to the external device. There's nothing special about Photoshop in this.
