Hello

When I paint or draw in Photoshop, the end of the stroke / line disappears, until I start a new stroke or I move the image. It has to be something with refresh display or presentation. Is this issue known and how can I fix it?

I installed Photoshop today and use 7 day as trial

My System:

Win 10 Home newest Built and Updates

Up to Date Drivers

Graphics Driver uninstalled with DDU (Display Uninstaller Driver) and reinstall new, but did not help

core i7 8750H 6 Cores

NVidia 1070

16GB RAM

1TB nVME Drive

120Hz Refresh Rate

Full HD

My System is a notebook MSI GE73 Raider RGB 8RF

I suspect you are on the right track, and that it is a video card / driver issue.  You say that the video card driver is up to date, but there have certainly been issues with major Windows 10 updates what can overwrite the Nvidea driver with a generic Microsoft one.

So first thing is to make sure the driver is up to date from the Nvidia site.  I run an RTX2070 and have 431.60 with Windows 10 1903.

Then try disabling GPU acceleration in Preferences > Performance, and restarting Photoshop.

Give those a try and get back to us.

NVidia Driver is from NVidia, I checked it.

However, I disabled GPU acceleration and the problem with stroke-end disappearing is solved, BUT the performance got (of course) worse - the lines lacks behind the mouse and the appearance of the painted strokes seems to have much worse resolution... bad experience - I favor the issue while GPU acc is enabled.

Hi Skari,

Sorry that the drawing strokes in Photoshop are disappearing unexpectedly. That shouldn't be happening, let us help make this right.

Could you please restore Photoshop app preferences to default and let us know if the issue still persists?

Please refer this article for instructions on how to restore Photoshop preferences:

Thanks,

Akash
