Eraser and brush tool not working

The iPad photoshop eraser and brush tool will randomly stop working for several minutes. Even if you close the file and reopen it, these tools will still not work. This has been happening on and off the whole day – any ways to troubleshoot?

I have not been able to reporduce this yet. Is this with Apple pencil painting? Are you working on a file with a lot of layers? Does the issue still occur if you turn on stylus only painting in the application settings/ Input? Does a quit of the application versus just closing the document help matters? What model iPad are you using, and how much free space is on the device?
