erratic glitch when using distort or rotate.

Question

I use Mac with the latest version (Monterey)

I've only had Photoshop CC ( version 23.4.0) for a couple of days and straight away noticed a bug that is preventing me from working. I first noticed when I made a selection and cloned it, then used the distort tool in the Edit menu, next thing I know a glitchy, flickery montage of shapes I don't recognise in different colours are flashing around the image. I have taken a screen record but Im unable to load it so I've included some sreen grabs
