What does this error mean. It never used to occur & all of a sudden it has started and I can't figure out why. This error occurs when I try to quick select, lasso or select an object to remove from my image using the content aware fill.

This would indicate that you are using a very strong feather and the selection quite literally never produce something to work with. Check the horizontal toolbar while the tools are active and reset the settings. If you have other problems, provide more details.

Try going to Edit, and then click on Content-Aware Fill. It helped me, but when I needed to make another fill on the same picture, I couldn’t. So, while the selection was still active, I added a new layer copy and then went to Edit and Fill. Hope this helps!

I was receiving the same error. I created a new layer (which is empty by default) and then applied the content aware fill to the image in the edit window. This triggered the problem (because the new layer was blank). If I delete the layer and apply the fill the main background layer, it worked fine.

I flattened my image then applied the edit/fill content-aware action and it worked. Very frustrating as that wasn't the way it worked before.

I'm quite sure that it worked like that from the beginning on. You may even test that by installing Ps CS6 and trying it out.

Hi there,

Could you post a screen cap of your workspace and the image you are working with? We might be able to get you to a better solution if we can see what you're working on. Thanks!
