System:

intel core i7-6700

ddr4 16gb

nvidia geforce gtx960 2 gb- just updated drivers

hdd 2tb+8gb ssd

Windows 10

Photoshop 2017

Lightroom 2015

I have seen this same issue on the forums, but always seems to be in reference to a mac, and the solution is just changing read-write protections. Here are some pictures to illustrate issue on my windows PC:

not the effect i was going for, but illustrates that liquify is working normally so far...

click ok and...

BAM!

Not sure what to do, haven't encountered this before and suddenly every picture has this problem. Frightened and scared. Plz help!

looking at the file itself, I can see I should have full permission for modification, both from the security tab and the general tab:

Steps I've taken so far are checking for photoshop updates, graphics card driver updates, camera raw plugin updates, reinstallation of Photoshop, and praying to various deities in a ritualistic manner.

Any help at all would be super appreciated, thank you

The message does not list what you were denied access to and the screen capture for some unknown file does  not show any permissions. You would need to look at the security tab for what ever file you looking at.

I do not think the liquify would need  to access any of you files.  It would be working on a layer in the document open in Photoshop not on any of your files.  The thing that can not be access would more likely be something like one of you users id preferences file or some other resource used by Photoshop's liquify.

The message displayed by Photoshop is not very useful it lacks needed detail.  Most likely a preference on some folder is not set correctly for your user id. Perhaps in your user id Appdata tree.

The screen capture was just to show that read only was uSelected. I can do a capture of the security screen, but all changes are allowed for every user,  full stop.

i agree error message is uninformative, hence desperate measure of joining a forum and making an ID just to ask one question.

I will investigate this user ID appdata tree you speak of.

when you say some folder do u mean the photo folder? So the file setting is correct but the folder setting is wrong??

you mention resource used by liquefy. do any examples spring to mind?

No  I can not think of any reason that liquify would be trying to access any of you photo folders unless you saves some mesh into one of your photo folders and you are trying to load it into liquify.  I assumed you are not doing that..

As for resources use by liquify I have no idea other then your users id Photoshop files.  It could well be trying to access other files install along with Photoshop.  I have no idea how liquify is programmed.
