Error with colour replacement

I was trying to apply a colour replacement mask, but it always gives me an error message saying that, for me to use the colour replacement tool, I must use it on a full colour mode. My image is already in RGB and 8-bit modes, so why is this still showing to me??

My OS is Windows 11.
