Export and font issues with Photoshop cc 2019

Adobe, you ruined my workflow. In my job, I have to create multiple mockups and export a jpeg of each one for review. Since updating today, i've lost the ability to export a jpeg to the same folder as the PSD file, which is how I've always had it set up. Suddenly, the only options I have are to search through the server for the folder containing my PSD every single time, or to create an assets folder next to the file (complete waste of time... just takes me longer to get to it). That doesn't even work, because when I chose that option, it still started in some random folder and wanted me to choose a folder to save in.

You just doubled the amount of time for each file by changing this. Thanks.

Also... a job I've been working on for months suddenly was "missing" fonts synced to Typekit. When it asked me to resolve the fonts, I did, and they still weren't available in the document. When I would click to edit to the text, it told me the fonts were missing and changed them all to Myriad Pro. Unbelievable. I finally got it to work by going to the Type menu and choosing "replace all missing fonts" which changed nothing, but suddenly found the missing fonts, all of which were synced with Typekit already.

Really great stuff to have happen while on a really busy workday. Had I known this wasn't a simple update, and that I would be upgrading to a whole new Photoshop, I wouldn't have done it.

I figured out a fix, but it's a workaround and not perfect.

If you go to the edit menu and edit shortcuts, just cut the shortcut option-comman-shift-w from "Export As..." and paste it onto "Quick Export." Then change your settings in the Quick Export preferences to jpeg. When you execute the quick export with the shortcut keys, it does give you a window prompt to find a place to save it, but it defaults to the folder the PSD resides in. Much quicker... just one extra stoke of the "enter" key. Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Chris

I am in the exact same boat with my graphic design team. Our workflow has slowed down and our irritation levels have increased.

We are really hoping that this gets fixed quickly!
