exposure adjustment layer gamma, inconsistent when using a linear profile

The result of changing the gamma setting in the exposure adjustment layer is  incorrect when using a linear profile. It shows an uneven step in a gradient.

This works correctly if using:

• adjustment menu exposure panel
• 32 bit mode
• a standard gamma curve profile
• ps 2020
