Eyedropper showing wrong color but selecting correct one

This is in Photoshop version 25.12.0, on Windows 11.

When I use the eyedropper, the ring around the outside showing the color bing selected is wrong - it seems to have a yellow-green bias to it. But it's important to note that it does select the correct color - it's just that the preview ring is showing the wrong color. So this isn't the type of issue where I need to fuss with sampling all layers, etc - the tool is selecting colors just fine.

See the screencap below where I'm selecting from a pure white image, and the ring is yellow-greenish. The color selected is pure white, though. Sorry - the eyedropper icon disappeared when I took a screencap, but it shows up correctly.

In Photoshop version 25.12.1, the circular bar displayed when using the color picker shows distorted colors. For example, when selecting gray, the circular bar displays the color as green. This is inconvenient. Please let me know if there's a way to fix this, and if it's a bug, kindly resolve it. This issue started occurring after an update one day.

It's a bug in Photoshop 2024 as reported here:

It does appear that it is fixed in Photoshop 2025

I have literally programmed my own color pickers. How do you screw something this simple up adobe?Why is it that no other software out there has as many program breaking bugs in the most basic features you would expect from an Imaging app?

At this price point, we should be getting premium software, not software more riddled with bugs than call of duty.

@Dan27036214fdaw I see this too, in Photoshop 25.12.0 - on white RGB 255,255,255, I set the eyedropper cursor to a crosshairs target in settings/cursors so I can see better just what I am sampling.

Now, when I sample white I get a tint in the inner circle similar to yours, MAYBE this is intentional - so the ring shows up on a white background. Maybe not, could be a bug. If you believe that’s the case please categirise your original post as "bugs" , currently you have "windows"

Screenshot below from Photoshop's built in help (search eyedropper), illustrates the expected behaviour. Is yours only 'misbehaving' on white?

The bottom half of the inner circle appears to be setup to show the last selected colour, the upper one the current selection under the crosshairs.

If I select white then blue it looks like the image in the example below (but a mine is definitely a little more off-white.)

Same thing here in release version 25.12.0 release version. Whether intentional or not, it makes the preview ring pointless as it is displaying the colour incorrectly.

I'll move this thread back from the beta to the public forum under 'bugs'

The eyedropper tool's sampling ring is displaying incorrect colors, specifically showing a slight green tint for all hues. This issue occurs even when sampling visually correct gray areas. The actual color selection is correct, but the sampling ring display is inaccurate.
This issue persists across different documents and color modes.
The problem is specific to the sampling ring display; the selected color is correct.
Reverting to an older version of Photoshop resolves the issue, confirming it's likely a bug introduced in a recent update.

I'm encountering the same issue in Photoshop version 25.12.0. When using the color picker on a black and white image with the sRGB color profile, the eyedropper tool displays an incorrect yellow or green tint when hovering over white areas. Despite this, the actual selected color is the correct white value. I confirmed that this issue is specific to Photoshop by testing the same image in Affinity Photo, where the problem did not occur.
