Eyedropper turn every color to the same gray

Question

I have a reuccuring issuse where my eyedropper tool will change any color I pick (includes black white or other grays) to the same gray.

It doesn't matter what I select it switches right back to this gray.

I'm working in RGB mode so I know this is not a greyscale issue.

Attached image is a CMYK slider because thats what I work with.

Long and short: Your hardware acceleration is messed up (or your monitor color profile) check this stuff. also of course apply all the updates to PS. this was a known issue in one of the releases but should have been fixed.
