Question

"F" key cycle view mode

Hi there!

Currently by pressing the "F" key, 3 modes changes by cycle (default => fullscreen with UI => fullscreen without UI)

Is it possible to make that only 2 modes change (default=> fullscreen+UI) ?

Thanks.

You can also make action buttons. you just need to use the " Insert menu item" to record the menu puill down.

If you use more than one screen, and have room to keep most of the panels always opened and don't need to toggle them on and off, that frees up most of the Function keys to be repurposed to trigger actions.  I use them to change and reset workspaces among other functions.

Do you currently use any of these functions?  If not, they are a valuable resource waiting to be used more productively.

    F2 Cut

    F3 Character panel

    F4 Adjustment layers panel

    F5 Brush panel

    F6 Colour panel

    F7 Layers panel

    F8 Info panel

    F9 Actions panel

    F10 History panel

    F11 Timeline panel

    F12 Revert

I use them for actions no need to edit keyboard shortcuts  just assign them in the Action palette.  Also if you edit them into your Keyboard shortcuts actions can override  your shortcuts ......

That's the way I use them JJ.  I like to add a reset to a workspace save as I am forever moving panels, and usually for forum answer screen shots.  So the reset tidies things up, and with all that going on, it needs an Action.   I use Essentials to a) free up a monitor if I need a reference image visible while using Photoshop, and b) to use the default shortcuts (usually for FT Step & Repeat — I use the FTS&R shortcuts for the following in my most used triple monitor workspace.

I got those from the Michael Ninness Power Shortcuts workshop he did at MAX six years ago.

BTW  I've had to give up my G910 keyboard because of the unfixable double space problem.  I got a Corsair K95 keyboard yesterday, and it only has six G-keys, so I am hoping I can organise a way to use my single key shortcuts without having to use the Razer Orbweaver.  I can _probably_ incorporate the Orbweaver, but I am worried it will clutter the desktop.  I can't remember if you said you still use your G13?  I just know that once you get used to the speed and convenience of using the Gaming keys, it is unbearable working without them.

Yo can only change the key utilized, but not the number of modes.

    Hi there,

It is not possible to change the F key behavior in Photoshop as of now. However, you may suggest this feature here: Feature Request/Bug Report Form as this forum is monitored by our engineers and they might look into it.
