The file info box where the metadata is  used to be a white box with black text.

it now seems to be reversed which is not good on the eyes, is there a way to change this?

Here the box is still white with black text (I use the Light interface)  but the buttons i.e. 'Preferences', 'OK' and 'Cancel' are now black with white writing (in 25.11).
Other dialogue boxes are normal, with grey buttons and dark writing. Resetting preferences made no difference to this.
