I cannot use the menu items "File > New" in Photoshop or Illustrator.

When I click on it, nothing happens. I am having this issue with current Photoshop and Illustrator Apps under Windows 10.

I did reset preferences, still I have this issue.

Correct answer Mylenium

That usaually indicates an issue with accessing the relevant folders (C:\Users\Red Point\Adobe etc.) and possibly the program folders themselves. So rather than trashing the prefs over and over check the file and folder permissions and make sure PS has full access.

I was able to solve the issue by following the instruction in the link above. Problem solved, case closed. Thank you.

Hi Mylenium, thank you for your quick reply.

I just opened Photoshop with Administrator priviledges, and I am now able to open a new file.

I am also not sure how to set them in such a way, that Photoshop will work normally in Windows. Is there a support page on Adobe where we find a step by step instruction on how to manually set Windows 10 permission so that Adobe apps will work?

I appreciate your help!
