File Save Size - maxing out 2gb / want more!

Is there a way to change PS CC from restricting max file size to 2gb?

We're working with 5DsR image files and after a few layers of retouching, these become enormous.  Love to know if there is an option to allow a file to be saved larger than 2gb (rather than have multiple layer files, which becomes confusing, annoying, etc - and confusing...

thanks

    Use PSB.

The PSD format is limited to 2GB - but if it's larger than 2GB it should automatically offer to save as PSB, which has no size restriction.

    TIFF has a 4GB limit.

So, why can't I write TIFFs larger than 2Gb, if they're less than 4Gb? This is nonsense!
What will you do when BigTIFF becomes more widely used?
