filling with a pattern

Please help!!! when I try to fill a page with a pattern I have defined and I click on script and then ok, it just comes up with a spinning loading wheel and does not ever work! sometimes the loading wheel stops and completely freezes the whole thing! please someone help me!

it is on a Mac. and the photoshop version is the latest version, I have just only just got it.

Have you tried resetting Photoshop preferences

that didn't seem to do anything, I now only seems to work when I use the brick fill
