Filter->Render turns layer black

Using version Photoshop 25.3.1, when I try any of the Render filters (Flame, Picture Frame, Tree), it just turns the entire layer black. They used to work properly the other day; I didn't make any changes to Photoshop or my computer. Any advice as to how to fix this?
