Font list lags extremely!

It's been happening for a while now, but whenever i try to scroll through my font list in either "Character" or the quick font menu that appears when u place text the experience gets super laggy.

If i move my mouse through the fonts list the selection is always seconds behind where my mouse cursor actually is.

I tried multiple things like turning off the Type preview to none, deleting the font preview cache etc.

No difference at al.
