Fonts not scrolling in character panel for selection

Normally when choosing a font, you can highlight the name of the font in the character panel and just scroll with the arrow keys so that you can "live preview" the fonts without committing to them. This has stopped working within the last week or so. I'm on version 23.4.1 and my co-worker is on a completely different setup, but with the same version an he's having the same issue and he's positive he was able to do it last week. We are both on Windows machines, both are relatively new and very different setups.
