Foreground Background Color Default to Grey when Changing

I cannot change to foreground or background colors in Photoshop 2021.  When I select either the foreground or background to change colors, it defaults to Grey!  Even when I create text and try to change the text color it defaults to Grey.  This problem just started and was working fine the other day.  Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi try to reset your photoshop preferences it will restore default settings....regards
