Generate Assets Multiple Computers

We store all our files on a local network. We often use the Generate Assets feature. Whenever a file is opened on different computer than it was created on, photoshop turns off Generate Assets and sometimes makes the feature unusable; it stops working even if you turn it back on, you have to copy all layers to a new file to start using the feature again.

We would like to have any one of our designers access the file on the server, edit and save it, and have updated assets automatically generated as normal.
