Gradient Photoshop

Latest Update 21.2.1 of Ps has issue with gradient tool. simple linear gradient does not apply in the same direction as the tool, nor does it follow the length of the tool. Additionally when selecting colours for the gradient the eye dropper/colour picker flashes the colour selected but defaults back to grey. Please create a corrective action to resolve.

Can you post a screen shot showing your settings and show the direction and length of the gradient? Have you tried resetting your preferences?

It's working not sure why. I just closed the application and restarted and it appears to be fine.
