Graphiccard is not detected anymore

Hello,

Yesterday Photoshop was lagging when I edited pictures and I wondered why. Today I figured out the reason, my graphic card is not detected anymore, therefore Photoshop doesn't use it and it is lagging. I don't know why this has happened.

My computer:

- GeForce GTX 970, latest driver is installed

- Windows 10, latest updates are installed

- Adobe CC Photoshop 2019, latest updates installed

Troubleshooting so far:

- reinstalled Photoshop

- reinstalled graphic card driver

- cut off power for over ten minutes (unplugged the cable)

Screenshots:

Is anybody able to help me fix this issue? I have to finish photos from my clients and I'm not able to work..

    Hi JJMack,

    I already re-installed the driver.

What I also noticed, Photoshop CC 2018 and Lightroom both recognized my graphiccard.

What fixed the issue was uninstalling the whole CC-App, including all programs. Very weird issue, but happy it is solved now.

Having this same issue. Noticed Photoshop CC 2019 was lagging today. Then discovered the GPU was not recognized. I've done everything from uninstall/reinstall all video drivers (tried different versions) as well as uninstalling and reinstalling Photoshop.

I have literally spent 6 hours troubleshooting and nothing has fixed it. Extremely frustrating.

    Several hours later:

Discovered the issue was a window update.

Uninstalled the update (then installed a utility to keep that update from updating automatically) and then the GPU would show up in PS, but I couldn't load or save files. Uninstalled PS. Reinstalled. Same issue. GPU would show up, but couldn't load/save. Turned off GPU in photoshop. Exited. Opened PS... and then it worked. Checked preferences, and GPU was there and turned on. So not sure what exactly fixed it... but it was the windows update. I create a RESTORE point called "photoshop works".

Here's a GPU troubleshooting guide: Troubleshoot Photoshop graphics processor (GPU) and graphics driver issues

I have a few ideas, but the Nvidia community forums might have owners who have run into this before and have good answers or suggestions. I own a Mac, but there  are Windows 10 owners in this forum who would also have better ideas. But I'll give you advice until they get a chance to look at it.

Uninstalling and reinstalling Photoshop does not remove Preferences, where the problem may lie.

    Try resetting Preferences

As for Nvidia drivers, try a rollback (uninstall the latest driver and reinstall an earlier one)

If you must uninstall Photoshop, use the cleaner tool to remove files uninstall might have missed

Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems

If resetting you preferences does nor resolve your problem try reinstalling you Nvidia Device driver. Particulary if you just updated windows 10 version 1809 to version 1903.  My Nvidia Quadro Drivets messes up when I updated windoes Photoshop hanf pronlem.  And now the newest driver I can noe uset some of the Advances GPU settins I uset to be ad to use in CC 2014.   I can use the settinc in CS6, cc 2018 and  CC 2019. The are only unavailable in CC 2914.

In CS6, CC 2018 and CC 2019 I set these
