Graphics processor is incompatible with Photoshop

Hello,

 

I am running on a Lenovo Legion laptop with nVidia GeForce RTX 3070 for notebooks with 8gb RAM. Photoshop version 23.2.0.  Windows 10 with all the updates. When I start, I am greeted with this error:

I have installed the latest driver (I have tried both the Studio Driver and the Game Ready Driver). I have disabled the other display driver, that one is also up to date. In NVIDIA Control Panel,  have set the preffered graphics processor to High performance. Also in program settings Photoshop and sniffer.exe are set to High performance. 

I tried to revert to an earlier version of PS, back to 22.3. It still doesn't recognize the graphics card.

I have noticed that the GPU also doesn't work in After Effects. There it says "inadequate VRAM or graphics driver".

Basically I tried all the proposed sollutions from earlier posts and the Adobe help page and none of them works.

What else can I do?

Yes I have tried all the sollutions proposed in the troubleshoot section, even disabling the onboard GPU. That didn't work.

 

In the meantime, I have found the solution. In BIOS, there is a graphics card setting where you can switch between dynamic graphic and discrete graphic. The default is set to dynamic graphic. But if you switch to discrete graphic, this setting will kill the onboard GPU. It doesn't show up anymore in Device Manager in Windows. This seems to work, but I find it strange that disabling the onboard GPU from Device Manager had no effect... Maybe somebody can explain why.

    Can you post your system info with the onboard card enabled? Then disable the onboard and gather the sytem info for that configuration as well? To get system info from Photoshop: Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.

    Yes I have tried all the sollutions proposed in the troubleshoot section, even disabling the onboard GPU. That didn't work.

     

    In the meantime, I have found the solution. In BIOS, there is a graphics card setting where you can switch between dynamic graphic and discrete graphic. The default is set to dynamic graphic. But if you switch to discrete graphic, this setting will kill the onboard GPU. It doesn't show up anymore in Device Manager in Windows. This seems to work, but I find it strange that disabling the onboard GPU from Device Manager had no effect... Maybe somebody can explain why.

    In general, all laptops have dual GPU's on the system. It's a onboard GPU like Intel or AMD. Do you have updated the driver for that as well? Or try to disable the onboard GPU
