So i was trying to adjust the  white balance using the curves adjustment tool. I click somewhere in my image that is grey but instead of  making that part of the image grey. It makes it bight red. not sure what i am doing wrong. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have attached a video of what happens

BTW i already know there are other ways to do this so i am not looking for alternative solutions. I am just trying to figure out why this particular one isnt working.

thank ui for your help in advance

You may have to reset the eyedropper criteria. Double-click on the gray balance (you call it white balance) eyedropper and note the RGB values. Change them to be alike, as shown. Test the result. On the sample above, I clicked on the background surrounding the subject.

In your video you are setting the middle dropper gray point (not the white point), white point is the bottom dropper icon:

To choose the target gray point, you need to duble-click the gray dropper and set the gray point from the color picker—it doesn’t look like you have a neutral gray point selected, looks like it might be orange?

With my gray point set to neutral 128|128|128, if I click the blue-gray background it will be set to neutral and the rest of the image will be adjusted accordingly
