Question

Guides will not show on canvas when using "transformation tool"

Hey all,

So this problem has been there for a while for me and thought I'd seek help here. When working on a layer and using the transformation tool (commmand+T), if you slide a guide it will not show up. You have to cancel the transformation you have just made and then slide another guide from the ruler and then both the previous one you pulled and the new one will appear at once....gets kinda annoying...I can't beleive this never came accross? Working on the latest version of Photoshop...

Check what is turned on in View->Extras and View->Show->Guides at the time of transformation.

Hey that checks out thanks it does work when checking an option there (my workspace is in french and the option is "reperes de la zone de travail")...only it's just too bad that when you "turn off" the guides, you have to go back again and check again "reperes de la zone de travail" if you go back to transforming a layer again.... If anyone from adobe is watching this, well it would be better if this "reperes de la zone de travail" would always be by default "on"... Indeed when working on transforming a layer, you would typically bring in a guide to align your transformation and then once you are done transforming it, it makes sense to turn off that guide to see better the image you are working on... but then it's very commun that you would go back again to "transform" a layer later but since you turned off the guides you have to go back again to View->Extras and View->Show->Guides->etc... it actually takes a second to do this but when you are working volumes of images these seconds add up and it does breaks a workflow kinda.... anyways thanks for everything these are just suggestions....

@Jean-Pierre5E8B it's working as expected for me with Photoshop version 25.2 on Windows 10

Hmm well maybe then it's a Mac problem...but it's definitely there...

It started a few years back when I was using Photoshop 21,1,3 on macOS 10,13 and had this problem and thought "well it's probably bc I have these older versions", then I got a new computer with macOS 13,2,1 with Photoshop 25 and 'was really expecting to not have this problem and yet it's still there years later...I would assume that essentially we slide in "guides" from the "ruler" especially when "transforming" a layer so it's very surprising to me that this glitch has stayed for all these years and versions on mac...
