Hands-on tutorials are not working

I am trying to learn photoshop through hands-on tutorials on my MacBook Pro. But I have been facing an issue with some tutorials:

When the tutorial tells me to select a tool on the toolbar, it does not react when I have selected the tool and continuously tells me to select the tool. Therefore, I am stuck on certain tutorials and cannot finish them.

Please help!

You have the Lasso tool selected. To get the Polygonal Lasso tool, either right-click the tool or long-press to see the hidden tools that share space with it, then select the Polygonal Lasso tool.

It tells you this in the "Additional Information", but I can see how it can be confusing for a new user. The Polygonal Lasso tool is used by clicking to make straight lines. The Lasso tool is used by dragging to make a casual selection.

  • If you make a mistake, click Delete (Backspace) to remove the last segment.
  • To close, put your cursor on the beginning point. You will see a little circle on your cursor.

You're welcome @Jasmin22360512hygq . Your screenshot made it easy to see the issue! Ask again (in new threads) if you have other questions on the tutorials.
