Having serious performance issues with Photoshop 2020

I had the 2020 version of Photoshop insatlled on my PC, and it would work beautifully for about 90 minutes to 2 hours, regardless of what I was doing. Then suddenly it starts lagging, then completely freezes up, then crashes and closes out on it's own, and then it boots me out of my account. I reset my preferences, and then it started working fine again, but then just like the prevoius time, after about 2 hours of using it, the same issue repeated. I finally gave up and just reinstalled my 2019 version. If anyone has any other suggestions, please let me know, I will be most grateful because I want to use the new 2020 version it has features such as improved Subject Select, which I use often, and the new version makes things a whole lot easier for extracting images from pictures.
