Healing brush no longer works properly after last update

This is extremely frustrating.  After the last update, the healing brush no longer works properly.

When doing frequency seperation in retouching and working on the detail layer.  I'm using the exact same settings I have been that have worked for years, and now just suddenly with this update, it no longer heals correctly and keeps putting wrong textures and moving colors that don't exist.

I can go to color layer even and overly aggressive blend the color for a long time and then sample that area and it will still put the wrong color and texture.

It is forcing me to use clone stamp when clone stamp doesn't always fit because of of the blur it gives no matter the softness or flow settings.  Sometimes clone stamp works fine and other times I need exact details which healing brush has always worked......until now.   It has wasted hours of time now trying to fix issues it causes.

I have updated Nvidia drivers as well so that's not an excuse Adobe can use and obviously updated photoshop since that was what created this issue.  Current update which it says is up to date is 24.7

I don't want to jinx it, but reseting some of those seemed to work at the moment.  I am still editing and have a bit more to do so will see if it's just a fluke for some of the areas I'm currently working on.

But I did noticed one thing right off the bat when I reset the brush.  Caught a number change when it reset the angle to 0.  What does this angle do on heal brush?  and since I've never once touched this setting, how did it get changed off zero?

Is this what could have been the issue?

Hi @Thai5C65, I'm sorry to hear about the issues as they sound frustrating. I've just tested the healing brush and everything is working as expected, but I'm not trying any frequency separations (Windows 10; Photoshop v24.7). Assuming you've tried a tool reset? A Preferences reset? Other suggestions are to roll back to the previous version if you are stable there for the work you need to do. We can also look at your system info to see if we notice anything. Under the Help menu, select System Info, and then copy/paste the text in a reply here.

I can increase the strength of the highpass layer or reduce it and it will do the same thing.  It is collecting color data that it's not supposed to be doing.   So maybe it's an actual highpass issue and not healing brush, but one of those two is bugged.
