healing brush tool not working

Hi

I'm using Photoshop 2020 and the healing brush tool was working fine but now its not. I am only a beginner so wonder if I have pressed something to change it by mistake. It keeps telling me Option-click to define a source point to be used to repair the image. It never used to say this.

Please help

Healing brush or Spot Healing brush? They are different tools. See screenshot.

Healing Brush works like a clone stamp tool and requires you to sample an area beforehand. Spot Healing Brush doesn't.

Also, I'm moving this question to Photoshop where it belongs.
