Question

Help getting color of SVG file to *stay* as they appear in every app but InDesign

Hi!

I have a SVG file that changes color when I place it into my InDesign document.

The SVG file looks fine in Photoshop.

It's when I place it into InDesign that one of the colors drops out (changes from teal to a duller green).

I've gone into Bridge to sync my color settings.

Same thing happens with a png file I made from the original SVG file.

Thanks for your help!

How does your question about Scalable Vector Graphics and InDesign relate to Photoshop, where you posted?

Looking closer at this, it's very typical of an RGB color getting gamut clipped in CMYK. The original RGB color cannot be reproduced in CMYK.

If you've placed an RGB patch and then define it as CMYK in InDesign, you get this clipping.

Your screenshot is untagged, so we don't know what color space you're working in - but if we assume sRGB, this is what happens when you convert that to, say, ISO Coated (eci):
