Hide/show selection, NOT transform handles

How do I hide ONLY the selection edges NOT the scale handles while scaling. I HAVE chosen only the Selection Edges check box. Doesn't work, but why?

    I don't think you can hide the scale handles when scaling is active. Seems a bit meaningless to me to hide them...? Can you even see what you're doing?

    I think you got wrong (maybe my English isn't good enough;) I need to see the handles, but not the selection. So our point is the same …

    Ah, sorry, got it.

     

    It sounds like it could be a GPU bug. I'd update the driver first, and if that doesn't work, reset Photoshop preferences. The preferences file contains the entire application configuration, and is prone to corruption because it's resaved on every application exit. Corrupt prefs can cause odd behavior.
