Home page not working/ export error

Hello,

Since Photoshop 2023, I have issues with the home page and the export function.
When I open Photoshop, it goes straight into the working space, and the Home page is unavailable.
And I get an error message every time I want to export a document.
So far, the only workaround I found is to run Photoshop as administrator, and then it is working properly.
Is there an another solution that could be permanent ?
(For info I'm running Windows 10)

Hey, @Maxime5CED. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I'll help you figure this out.

Go to the following location on Windows and set the option to open Photoshop as Administrator as default in Explorer to find out what works best for your setup.

  • C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop 2023 or Photoshop 2024
  • Right-click on Photoshop.exe > Properties > Compatibility > Change Settings for all users > Run this program as an Administrator
  • Apply & save the changes.

Now this is a quick way to workaround this. On a larger scope, if this machine is personally owned and managed by you, you can follow the steps shared on multiple Microsoft Community threads: https://adobe.ly/3Sa8jet

Thanks!

What is the current setting of the Auto Show the Home Screen option in Preferences? (see picture below) On your computer, is that option enabled or disabled?

Also, if the Home page is unavailable, does that mean when you are in the workspace, nothing happens when you click the Home icon near the top left corner? Or does that work?

The box was checked, and nothing happens when I click the Home icon.
It is working only when I run the app as admin.

Hi Sameer,

Thanks for your message. I wasn't aware of this feature in Windows. Now the app opens correctly.
