Home screen freezes when opening image

Version: PS v 23.01, Platform: PC Win 10

Steps:

Launch Photoshop

Home screen appears

Open image from list of recents

Image opens, but home screen continues to appear in background

Photoshop may freeze at this point

Go to Preferences > Technology Previews... and check "Disable Native Canvas" - then restart Photoshop. Does the problem still occur?

    Yes, same problem occuring, after turning off "Disable Native Canvas".

    I'm reverting back to version 22.5.3. as it is stable and works fine on my Win 10 64 bit PC.

    BTW, this exact issue happend several versions ago. I waited a couple version before upgrading and by then it was resolved. Unfortunate to see the issue reappear several version later.
