how and where do you install a plugin?

I have about three plugins for photoshop where do and how do I install them. one is a starbrush I need for a website's splash page. Sorrry to bother with such a mundane question but when

you have seemly everthing you go to the masters. Photosho CS5 extened, WinXP 3,

Brushes are not plugins.

Brushes are just preset files, which can go anyway, but are easiest to load from the presets folder.

Plugins are code, and usually come with an installer or instructions. They go in Photoshop's plugins folder.
