Question

How can I batch scale images so that they are at least x by x large?

I've used the Bridge Image Processor for many years to scale images down using "Resize to Fit" option. But now I need to do the opposite: Scale a few hundred images up so that they are at least 5000 x 3000 px. The images have all kinds of different aspect ratios and I don't want to enlarge them more than necessary. That's why I need something like "Resize to Fit", just the other way around.

How can I do this?

You can also prepare custom action to increase/decrease Image Size to meet your goals

If tou record action you can use File > Automate > Batch command to use this action on folder

macpawel, if I create an action, is there a way to make the resizing conditional as with the Image Processor. I can not record a specific size due to the different aspect ratios. One image might need to be 6233 x 3000 while the next one might need to be 5000 x 3704.

What I like about using an action is that I could use "Preserve Details 2.0".

Use the image processor: File / Scripts / Image Processor

Set your image size in section # 3

I feel stupid now. For some reason I was absolutely convinced that the Image Processor could only scale down, not up. Thanks!

I got one more though: For best results I would like to use "Preserve Details 2.0". Is there a way to do that?
