Hey everyone, I am currently trying to color in JUST the black area on this text. Right now I have the text as a smart object and I set it to "Difference" to highlight the exact area I need colored. I want to make the black area be the same color as the background, but I can't figure out how to do it properly and keep it clean and flush. Can someone please help?

Make a dii you duplicate copy. Select all the colo and then go select inverse. Make a new layer and with the color picker tool select the color you would like to match and fill those areas on the new layer.

when done turn off the the duplicate layer.
