How can MAC users restore the actions from the previous PS CC to 2017 CC?

Generally I really like Photoshop, except when it comes to updating to new versions. So now updated to PS 2017 cc but have none of my actions.

Where can I find them and how to re-install?

Many thanks

James

I know where I keep my actions and it is not in this location, however I keep seeing advice to look in the presets folder, so others obviously have the expectation that actions should somehow be stored here... Curious minds need to know!

Very misleading indeed

They are not there for CS5, CS6, CC, CC2015, CC2015.5 etc. TimeMachine should reflect this, however I’ll check…No custom actions!

How do custom actions get there in the first place?

Try plugging in .atn in Spotlight. That brought up a lot of Action files I didn't know I still had.

You should see an "Open in Finder" option where you can see where they are.

gener7, my presets/actions folder is empty, whether this is CS6, CC, CC2015 etc.

/Users/username/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop ???/Presets/Actions

However or here:

Mac:

/Users/username/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop ??? Settings/Actions Palette.psp

Win:

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Photoshop\???\Adobe Photoshop ??? Settings\Actions Palette.psp

jamesd90971121 – Presuming that the old assets are still around, I personally would manually save out each individual action set to a new .atn file from within your old version of Photoshop so that you have a proper backup copy of the individual actions, rather than trusting that your .psp file will never be reset or corrupted etc. Having a backup of both .psp and .atn files can’t hurt, however only having the .psp is living life dangerously! Why? Clear/reset the the actions palette with no backup of your .atn or .psp file and you have lost all of your actions! If you have the individual .atn files they can always be manually loaded back in, shared with other users etc.
