Question

How create clipping mask but with several shapes?

I have this template that I want to use, to insert an image into. I would like the image to be placed inside the outermost lines, which i know you can do with the clipping mask tool, but I also want the shapes in the middle of the images to crop out. Basically, I want to go from the barebones to the sonic image (design not by me)

Hi, you can select the area's that you want to use (without the shapes in the middle) and copy this on a new layer using Layer > New > Layer via copy. Now put the image layer on top and make the clipping mask with Layer > Create clipping mask. Or alt/option click between the two layers.

»i know you can do with the clipping mask tool«

«Tool« has a specific meaning in the context of Photoshop and it does not feazure a »Clipping Mask Tool«.

»I also want the shapes in the middle of the images to crop out«

What do you mean?

Please post a screenshot or sketch.
