How do I add RGB back into photoshop channels?

Hi there, 

 

The only channel I have in photoshop is currently Grey which isn't ideal and for the life of me I can't figure out how to add RGB or CMYK back into the channels so I can continue working. Any help much appreciated

Correct answer Myra Ferguson

Your image is a grayscale image. You can see which color mode is being used in the document's tab where it shows "Layer 1, Gray 8." You can change the color mode by going to Image > Mode > RGB Color or Image > Mode > CMYK Color.
