Question

How do I define and set a specific size for cropping in Photoshop?

I have several small icons that I need to keep proportionately the same size. I know the size I need to make them, but how can I guarantee that,

  1. they all will be cropped to the same proportions, and
  2. the image in the middle will stay centered?

Thanks,

~ Lynne

The usefulness of the replies to your question will be dependent on many factors, including a detailed description of what you have and what you need as a result – often with multiple example files uploaded or linked to a file sharing service so that the forum can better understand your requirements and how such files may be successfully processed.

Small Icon have few pixels for content.  Any cropping will reduce the number of pixel you have for the icon. Cropping also delete some of the original icon content you had you lose part of your  icon. Not something you should want to do to an Icon.

Some icon file formats contain several version of an Icon with different amount of Pixels. Different sizes of the same ICON. The are specialized icon editors for creating the different resolution icon in these files.  Photoshop is not the proper editor for Icons.
