How do I open a photo in unedited form?

I have both CS5.1 and CC for photographers.  If I edit a photo in Photoshop CC and save it under a different name, I can open the unedited file is Photoshop CS5.1 but not Photoshop CC.  I have gone so far as to delete both the edited and original photograph then upload a new copy of the original under a different name and the edits are still present when I open the new photo in either Lightroom, Phodtoshop, or Bridge CC. This has driven me to stop using the CC suite and revert to CS 5.1.  How do I stop CC from opening an unedited photo with edits saved on a previous copy?
